The Mosaic Church is a new, vibrant, diverse church, built upon a very historical foundation, seeking to minister to and through the emerging communities on the Southside of Savannah, GA.
We are excited about the opportunities to which Mosaic is called.
Currently, Mosaic Church is a predominately African American Congregation, and yet we also have members who are European and Hispanic Americans. We offer a Hispanic Worship service on Saturday evenings. The area around the church is predominately African American, with a growing Hispanic-American demographic. Much like the indicators from the MissionInsite study (pg. 7), Mosaic’s membership reflects the three largest racial groups in the area. Our vision is to reach a diverse community reflecting our community's racial, socioeconomic, educational and international diversity, intentionally make disciples of Christ and then help them grow in maturity. Yet, with so much in place, a barrier has emerged. This social media campaign will help us reach new people to experience these systems and the love of Christ we offer.
Mosaic’s other outreach efforts include a full-day preschool, community Carnivals, and a summer Character Camp.
Mosaic Church is located on the far Southside of Savannah, GA. Its new location is in the heart of Savannah’s Georgia growth trends (within less than 15 miles from Pooler, Rincon and Richmond Hill, all listed in the top 20 growing cities in the State.) Furthermore, the 1 Taken from a MissionInsite 5-mile radius study, centered around 7 Canebrake Road Mosaic Church of Savannah, GA 2 church is located across the street from The Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens (a major tourist attraction). It is visible from Coastal Highway 17 (between Keller’s Flea Market and Lowes Seafood Restaurant.
A quick summary of the demographic lessons from the MissionInsite study, which led to the church’s relocation, reveals some exciting trends. First, this area is growing at a rate higher than Georgia’s overall statewide average. This growth is occurring in all but one study area; is projected to continue through 2026 and includes growth in every age range and racial grouping. Secondly, this area has a median income exceeding $72,000, surpassing the State average. This trend is buffeted by leading indicators in the white-collar vs. blue-collar professionals ratio, higher educational attainment and number of stable married households. This community offers an amazing opportunity to reach all people (the unchurched, de-churched and church friendly).
